Privacy Notice
The Citizens Bancorp of Oviedo, Inc (and its affiliates, Citizens Bank of Florida, Citizens Financial Partners, Inc. and CBO Properties, Inc.) is providing this notice. This Privacy Notice takes the place of any previous privacy policies issued by Citizens Bank of Florida and/or Citizens Financial Partners. We value the trust that you have placed in Citizens Bancorp of Oviedo, Inc. and its affiliates. Our corporate focus is the protection of your privacy in your dealings with us. We do not sell your personal information and we take strict measures to safeguard any confidential information that you provide to us when you request any of our products or services. The following is a description of our policy on how Citizens Bancorp of Oviedo, Inc. and its affiliate companies manage your information.
We collect the following categories of information:
1. The information provided in applications for credit, deposit accounts, investment products, and insurance or when you request any other service or transaction. For example: name, address, social security number, account number, phone number, assets, income, etc.
2. The information collected through the transactions you perform with us. For example: payment history with us, account balance, transaction volume, persons to which you make, or from whom you receive payments or deposits, credit card usage, etc.
3. The information provided by third parties, such as credit agencies. For example: your creditworthiness or credit history with all your creditors.
What information we disclose about our customers with our affiliates:
We may share the above-mentioned information between our affiliates, such as the commercial bank, the investment company, and the insurance agency. You may restrict us from sharing non-experience information (for example: creditworthiness or credit history) or certain personal information that is not publicly available (such as your assets or income) with our affiliates by following the instructions below. You may also limit us from sharing any of the other information listed above with our affiliates if we share it with them for the purpose of marketing their products and services to you. This exclusion does not apply, however, to any affiliates with which you currently do business or if you ask to receive information or offers from them.
Even if you elect not to have personal information shared or used for marketing purposes, the Fair Credit Reporting Act and other laws allow us to share specific details about your transactions and experience between our affiliates. The use of this information is limited by federal law to specific permissible purposes, such as applications for credit, insurance, or employment.
You may limit the Citizens Bancorp of Oviedo, Inc. companies such as financial institutions, insurance, security brokerages, and property management affiliates from marketing their products or services to you based on your personal information that they receive from other Citizens Bancorp of Oviedo Inc. companies. You may also limit us from sharing other certain types of personal information such as your income, your assets, and your credit score.
To prevent us from sharing information with our affiliates you need only to "opt out". Simply complete the Request to Opt-Out on the last page of this document notice.
We handle our former customers information in the same manner we handle our current customers information.
What information we disclose about our customers with non-affiliated companies:
In addition to the information we share with our affiliate companies, we may share your information with third parties who are not affiliates when they perform services on our behalf or during joint marketing agreements to provide you some product or service. Examples of non-affiliates include: collection agencies, insurance agencies/companies, mortgage administration, marketing companies, check printing companies and securities broker dealers. We only provide them with information that we believe is necessary to fulfill their responsibilities or to provide a financial service to you. These companies work at our direction and they are required to safeguard your information and only use it for authorized purposes. We do not share information about our former or current customers with third parties except as permitted by law.
Certain federal and state laws may require us to share information about you. For example, if you are involved in a legal matter with a third party, we may be ordered to provide information to a court or other party. In these circumstances, only the specific information required by law, subpoena, or court order will be shared.
Our security measures:
We restrict the access to our customer's information only to our employees who need access in order to provide you with our services or products, or to comply with any regulation or federal and local laws. Furthermore, all information received through our branches, as well as through our website, is protected physically as well as in the electronic files in such a way that it cannot be accessed by unauthorized persons. We maintain strict controls in order to comply with federal regulations and maintain the privacy of your information. Our employees are trained on the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of your information.
We will never send emails asking for personal or account information, such as passwords, Social Security numbers, PINs, credit or debit card numbers. In most cases, we will not send you emails unless you have initiated an email dialogue with us; you have previously requested us to communicate with you in this manner; and/or the email is about your relationship with the bank.
Opt-Out Option:
Your choice to restrict the sharing of certain personal information or to limit marketing offers from the Citizens Bancorp of Oviedo, Inc (and all of its affiliates) will apply until revoked in writing by any of the account holders on the account. Simply complete the attached form and mail it to us at: Citizens Bancorp of Oviedo, Inc. PO Box 620729, Oviedo, FL 32762-0729. In the case of joint accounts, this notice will apply to all account holders. However, any account holder may exercise his/her right to opt-out and the request will apply to all account holders on that account. Any account holder may exercise their right to opt out at any time by completing and mailing in the Request to Opt-Out form. The request may take up to 30 days to process from the date of receipt. Once you opt-out, there is no need to opt-out again as this designation is permanent and can only be removed with a written request by customer. Incomplete information will delay, or possibly prevent, our ability to honor your request. If you have any further questions, you may write to us at the above-mentioned address.
